Is there a Splitero lawsuit?
Short answer
Two cases appear in public court records, as reported by independent reviewers in September 2026: a pending federal complaint filed in June 2026 under the federal wiretapping statute, and a 2025 California real property case that was settled and dismissed. Neither challenges the terms of Splitero's home equity investment contracts.
| Filed | Court | Type | Status (as reported) |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 12, 2026 | U.S. District Court, S.D. California (No. 3:26-cv-03549) | Single-plaintiff complaint under 18 U.S.C. § 2511 (wiretapping statute) | Pending |
| June 10, 2025 | Riverside County Superior Court, California | Civil real property complaint by two homeowners | Settled; dismissed Sept 29, 2025 |

“Splitero investigation” pages
Some law-firm pages advertise an “investigation” into whether home equity investment agreements should be regulated as loans. These are requests for potential clients, not filed lawsuits. The same legal question is being raised against several HEI providers.
